EA has officially announced a film adaptation of The Sims is in the works and aims for it to have an impact like the Barbie film.
The film will be produced by Barbie actress Margot Robbie’s production company LuckyChap, with Loki director Kate Herron at the helm.
In an interview with Variety, EA’s vice president and general manager of The Sims Kate Gorman discussed the company’s plans for the film and the inclusion of fan-favourite Easter Eggs.

Sony has announced a limited edition classic-coloured console range for its 30th anniversary, with versions of both the newly-announced PlayStation 5 Pro and the PS5 Digital Edition, both sporting a retro grey finish.

As you’d expect, there’s a matching grey-coloured DualSense controller to go with the consoles. There’s also a grey PlayStation Portal – remember that? – too.

Both the PS5 Pro and the PS5 Digital Edition also have classic-coloured PlayStation logos and textured plastic with the PlayStation symbols embossed in.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered has been rated by the ESRB, listing PC and PlayStation 5 as its platforms.
A remaster of Guerrilla’s first Horizon game was rumoured back in 2022, but is yet to be officially announced by Sony.
This rating brings fresh credibility to the remaster’s existence, though no indication of a release date has been provided. Could this be some sort of PS5 Pro launch title?

Final Fantasy series producer Yoshinori Kitase has said the forthcoming third part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy won’t “betray the fans of the original”.
Kitase commented on fan conjecture around how much the story will change from the original, as part of an interview with Anime News Network, alongside Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi and battle director Teruki Endo.

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has revealed its next Premium Warbond, known as Chemical Agents.
Chemical Agents comes complete with some “seriously deadly toys”, including stratagems, utilities, emotes and more.
On the Warbond’s release, players will be able to get their hands on the likes of the TX-41 Sterilizer, the G-4 Gas grenade (which will “cover the whole area in a cloud of noxious fumes”) and the new utility P-11 Stim Pistol. You can check out the gas-filled trailer for Chemical Agents below.

Cyberpunk 2077 fans have pledged more than $2m to ensure a new, official board game version of CD Projekt Red’s role-playing game is made.

The crowdfunding campaign for Cyberpunk 2077 – The Board Game on GameFound obliterated its initial $100k goal in just 10 minutes and four seconds. As of writing, almost £2.1m has been pledged, and counting. 16 days of the campaign remain.

This tabletop version of Cyberpunk 2077 sees you taking on missions and follow branching, replayable stories as V, Panam, Jackie or Judy across Night City. It’s been created by Game On Board, the company that previously made a couple of official The Witcher board games, with support from CD Projekt Red itself.

Thatcher’s Techbase – the Doom WAD that sees players descending to the Tenth Circle of Hell to thwart the return of “one of humanity’s greatest threats” – has been yanked from Bethesda’s new in-game mod browser after being reported for “real-world politics”.

Thatcher’s Techbase initially released back in 2021, but developer Jim Purvis recently decided to take advantage of Bethesda’s official community-published mod support – which launched for PC and consoles as part of Doom 1 & 2’s enhanced bundle back in August – giving Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox owners the opportunity to play the WAD for the first time.
