Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 remaster hints surface at Comic-Con

Crystal Dynamics’ beloved dark fantasy action-adventure series Legacy of Kain could be poised to receive the remaster treatment, if newly sighted branding at Comic-Con is to be believed.

As spotted by a user on Resetera, logos for an unannounced “Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered” were included on display plaques accompanying statues of game characters Kain and Raziel at this week’s Comic-Con San Diego show.

A Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver graphic novel prequel, The Dead Shall Rise, was recently announced by Dark Horse Comics, and GameSpot has now received confirmation from the publisher’s VP of product development and sales that this is due to release in August.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is heading to Xbox Game Pass this week

Amid of swirl of rumours suggesting Microsoft was prepping more Call of Duty for an imminent Xbox Game Pass release, the company has confirmed last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will join on its subscription service this Wednesday, 24th July.

Overwatch 2's new hero is space ranger Juno and she's available to play today

Following a bit of a tease at least year’s BlizzCon, Blizzard has given Overwatch 2’s 41st hero the full reveal treatment. And that’s not all! Juno, as the shooter’s new Martian space ranger is known, is available to play today for a limited-time.

When Blizzard first teased Juno last year, she was known only by the codename Space Ranger. It was, however, confirmed, she’d be Overwatch’s first Martian character, as well as a “highly mobile support hero”. Eight months later and we now have a much clearer idea of who Juno is, as well as what she can do, thanks to a brand-new gameplay trailer showcasing her abilities.

Sporting a kind of retrofuturistic look, complete with jet-infused roller-boots and a slinky ray gun, Juno leans heavily on speedy traversal. Her pa…

Fallout: London mod will work with Fallout 4 on GOG and Steam but not Epic

As Fallout 4’s massive Fallout: London mod nears its release, distributor GOG has moved to clear up some compatibility questions. The company has confirmed Fallout: London will work with versions of Fallout 4 bought on GOG and Steam, but not those purchased on the Epic Games Store, as the latter doesn’t currently support a key feature needed to get it running.

If you’re not up to date on its progress, Fallout: London – which, as its name suggests, enables players to quest around a post-apocalyptic open-world version of the UK’s capital – has hit a few snags on the road to its release. Specifically, developer Team Folon has run into issues getting it to work with Fallout 4’s recently released next-gen update.

How the Baldur's Gate 3 bear sex scene came to be, and why it's "a watershed moment in game history"

In a talk at Brighton’s Develop conference this week, former Larian writer Baudelaire Welch declared the bear romance scene in Baldur’s Gate 3 “a watershed moment in game history”. They said it was an unprecedented example of a developer recognising and validating the fanfiction community surrounding a game by realising something they wanted in it.
Welch was responsible for overseeing the companion romances in the game, and wrote the Dark Urge storyline, but didn’t join the team until partway through development. The game had already come out in early access at that point, in autumn 2020, which meant considerable work had already been done – companion romances included. But there was still a lot of work to do, and some characters weren’t yet romanceable – Halsin …

Ubisoft sorry Assassin's Creed Shadows artwork features real-life historical re-enactment group logo

Assassin’s Creed Shadows developer Ubisoft has owned up to including a historical re-enactment group’s logo in artwork for its upcoming feudal Japan stabathon, and apologised for its use without permission.

Fans spotted the flag of the Sekigahara Teppo-tai infantryman reenactment group in concept art on Ubisoft’s website, and flagged (sorry) the matter to the group itself (thanks, Siliconera).

Writing on social media, the re-enactment group’s cannon chief said they contacted Ubisoft last month about the issue. Ubisoft later responded, and told them that the online version of the artwork had been removed.
